Part of me really enjoys reading stories about ladies navigating their way through patriarchal societies and defying expectations and kicking ass or whatever
But the rest of me would just like to read stories about women who just are amazing and don’t have to overcome great misogynistic odds to do so
I’m specifically talking about fantasy and sci-fi, where it could easily be written that some lady decides to become a pirate or a diplomat or the best milliner ever or the queen’s mistress or whatever, and the struggle comes from factors other than her gender
I just would like more of that
